Garam Masala- (gah-RAHM mah-SAH-lah) Garam is Indian for “warm” or “hot” it is a blend of dry roasted, ground spices from the colder climes of northern India. Many variations, but most commonly includes black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, cardamom, dried chiles, fennel, mace and nutmeg.
Spätzle- ( SHPEHT- sehl) – Literally translated from German as “little Sparrow” a dish of tiny noodles or dumplings made with flour, egg, water or milk, salt and sometimes nutmeg. The dough can be firm or soft and can be forced through a colander with large holes. The dough is usually boiled before served.
